Goodie Mob

The first time I heard Cee-Lo singing, Khujo, Big Gipp & T-Mo Goodie rapping I was too young to dissect each line they wrote but I still was able to grasp the concept that as a group, Goodie M-O-B was the shit!! It's something about the south & the people.  Those that understand are expressive in their music, you'll hear soul, pain, rhythm, anger and joy all in one, thats because thats the south, its black.

Cee-Lo is & always has stood out over the group only because of his depth. He's the leader and because of that Goodie Mob had to part ways years ago in order to be at the height they are today. Yesterday things weren't so steady for the Mob. Khujo went through a life-changing hurdle when his leg was amputated in a car accident. He's been jailed since June 9th of last year and was sentenced to two years in prison for a probation violation from 1990, which everyone says was some jive & was legally voided recently... Khujo is a stand-up guy and well respected amongst his peers. To see him strut on stage at the awards show last year was like seeing your family back together after a rough period. T-Mo has always stayed grounded to the Mob, he and Khujo formed there group The Lumberjacks while the 4 of the Mob were not seeing eye to eye. Once upon a time, along with Big Gipp the 3 of them released an album entitled One Monkey Dont Stop No Show. The Monkey doesn't matter anymore. The show goes on!!

Leaders have to venture off from amongst the team every now & again to see what more can be accomplished, sometimes that task has to be alone, thats what Cee-Lo did. Not too mention he has his own sound and he also managed to find the ears of America by simply saying, F--- You! Since that's how they like it, the door has opened for Cee-Lo to travel back to the Dungeon where magic still exist, he did announce another Goodie Mob album in the making, you can do things like that when you have such an impact on music awards, commercials, music charts and radio. I'm just glad the M-O-B is ready to embark on the next chapter.

Their new song Is That You God sounds like they have learned, grown and about to do something special for the south, once again.
